Buckland
This peaceful village comprises only some twenty honey
coloured Cotswold stone houses approached along a country
lane just south of Broadway on the road to Cheltenham. The
single village road is a no through road and the surrounding
countryside, which is designated an Area of Outstanding
Natural Beauty, is ideal for walking and riding. There are
numerous easy footpaths and bridleways including the
Cotswold Way.
The 12th Century village
church is mentioned in the Domesday Book and is in the
centre of the village which lies in the fold of several
gentle hillsides that are mostly capped with ancient
woodlands. At the property guests will enjoy seeing the
owner's animals including dogs, cats, horses, ponies and
chickens.
The three cottages are
delightful stone built properties carefully converted in
1988, 1990 and 2005 from part of the original grain and
hayloft of a fine Edwardian stable block. The building works
have been carefully completed by local craftsmen to create
homes full of character with exposed stonework and timber
beams, and fitted out to the highest standards.
